About WhatGives

WhatGives was started in 2015 when a good friend almost dropped out of college because of an unexpected bill of $350. WhatGives provides small sum financial grants to individuals that are in a crisis that has a negative impact on their ability to obtain or continue with their education, training, or emplyment. WhatGives utilizes a proprietary "Trust Network" concept to link individuals in need with those that can provide the means to assist in a time of crisis. We believe that by networking people we can support each other in times of need. We are not affiliated with any church, political party or organization. We simply believe that there is significant benefit for individuals, and society to stay trained, educated, and employed. At WhatGives, we don't require that the individual pay the money back. Our range of grants are between $100-$1000. However, in order for an individual to obtain funding a second time, they must have provided substantiation that the money obtained for the first grant was used appropriately and for the reason approved by WhatGives.
