CONSCIOUS DESIGN SOLUTIONS I believe that people need time to know the inherent potential of their living spaces in relation to what they desire. I have learned this and continue to prove it with what is my ongoing project: The FlatPak house I have built with my partner in the Catskill Mountains of New York. Left with unanticipated visual challenges, I continually contemplate and change what I have with what I can: my tools as an artist. Purely visual, color and design can transform a space from something merely acceptable or just not right to a dynamic and embracing living environment. Informed by experience and training as a visual artist (rodneylwhite.com), I have developed an unique approach to what I call interior environmental design. As an alternative to the more traditional approach, which focuses on objects in a room, I focus on the the room itself to utilize the full potential of the existing light within and the existing interior proportions. I can apply my transforming skills to your space as I have applied them to mine. We would start by examining what you have relative to what you want/need. We would discuss how to proceed toward your goal, in what ways and at what pace. I offer services that range from consulting for ongoing or new projects to devising and implementing solutions for existing design problems.
