WHITIN DESIGN WORKS is a Landscape Architecture and Urban Design firm founded in 1984. The Key Personnel collectively contribute over 75 years of experience in Landscape Architecture, Urban Design and Landscape Construction. The firm was founded on the belief that inspired design results from the specific project, place and Client. Our focus is the design and construction of the built environment. We look for opportunities to celebrate the distinctive characteristics and history of places and do not subscribe to a specific design idiom. The strength of the firm is our broad vision, originality in concepts and ability to solve complex problems. We are active participants in the development and approvals process, working with and for public agencies, universities and private developers to achieve creative design solutions within the context of restrictive codes and budgets. WHITIN DESIGN WORKS is unique in that it combines the best features of small and large firms, offering large firm experience and capability within a small firm setting. This approach provides both Principal and Associate leadership through the life of each project. The office encompasses all aspects of Landscape Architecture and is committed to creativity, innovation and design excellence. This includes: Landscape Architecture (design, construction documents, specifications, bidding and negotiation, construction observation), Urban Design, Maintenance Guidelines, and Project Team Management for Client.
