About Wichita Falls Independent School District (WFISD) Wichita Falls Independent School District proudly serves the vibrant North Texas community of Wichita Falls, providing high-quality education to approximately 12,600 students. In 2024, WFISD opened two state-of-the-art high schools, featuring innovative learning environments tailored to the needs of today’s students, along with cutting-edge facilities for fine arts and athletics. Our district encompasses two early childhood campuses, 14 elementary schools, three middle schools, an alternative campus, and a Career Education Center offering 26 career pathways—empowering students with diverse opportunities for post-graduation success. As the largest of the 38 public school districts in North Texas, WFISD is accredited by the Texas Education Agency and serves as the largest district in Region 9.
