Wild Hare Escapes (www.WildHareEscapes.com), a new online escape room experience, is now accepting bookings for it's first two games. Serf's Quest, a parody of the popular King's Quest computer games that sends you on a quest to escape a fairytale kingdom, and The Comedy of Terrors, in which a cast of performers are subjected to the whims of a P.O.'d theatre ghost. Escape rooms have been around for a while now, but the online arena is relatively new. Wild Hare Escapes aims to take the genre to a new level by giving players the chance to explore in multiple directions, as you would in a physical location. With their games, players are free to explore not only a room or two, but entire buildings or worlds—a throwback to the computer and video adventure games of the ‘80s and ‘90s. Wild Hare's offerings place a large emphasis on humor; they strive to entertain as well as engage. Their games feature stunning visuals, immersive storylines and, of course, challenging puzzles. A prime focus of Wild Hare’s games is variety and selection. They are launching with two games and have plans to release a new game every 1-2 months. While brick and mortar rooms are generally limited in the number of rooms they can offer due to space, Wild Hare Escapes doesn’t have those kinds of restrictions. They intend to provide a wide range of themes, including holiday-specific games, and even explore some niche markets. Hosted on the Zoom video conferencing platform with a live host, groups of 2 to 10 players have 60 to 75 minutes, depending on the game, to use clues and objects to solve the puzzles and escape. These game sessions are a perfect way to virtually “escape” for an hour or so and spend time with family, friends, or co-workers.
