About Wild Thing Yoga Lori

I'm Lori Salmonsen, founder of Wild Thing Yoga Lori, and a 200-hour certified yoga instructor. I l teach group classes and private sessions, and I create unique yoga experiences. I've been practicing yoga since 2007 and found that it was a perfect complement to my running, hiking and other outdoor pursuits. But that was only the beginning of my yoga journey. As I've studied over the years and gone deeper into the mind|body|spirit connection, it is truly an integral part of my life. My favorite moments of teaching are when I see a student make a breakthrough in their own progress, such as a pose they've been working on, or gaining new insights and confidence in their abilities. I've had the privilege of witnessing this so many times with my students at Couch to Active where I teach online Adaptive Vinyasa Yoga classes to visually impaired and sighted students. I believe strongly in helping people start from wherever they are, even if that place is learning to breathe and be present. My style is to create unique and fun experiences, whether it's online classes, or sunset yoga on the beach where the sights and sounds of nature offer a beautiful backdrop and help bring students into the present moment. My 20+ years as a Learning Experience Designer for corporations has given me an accelerated start in knowing how to introduce new students to yoga and help them grow in their own practice. My natural and deep empathy for ALL BEINGS shines through in everything I do and is why this Sanskrit chant is my favorite, Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu "May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all." I live with my adorable adopted pup named Franny, who sometimes shows up on the yoga mat as my assistant. It would be my honor to help you bring yoga to your life.
