A social enterprise facilitating outdoor education experiences to include Forest and Beach School, bushcraft sessions, outdoor curriculum-based Science and Maths sessions, Wild Camp Adventure Programmes and Outdoor Active Retreats. We are looking to create positive social impact in Cornwall by funding Wild Camp Adventure Programmes for young women (14-24) who are either N.E.E.T (not in education, employment or training) or at risk of becoming so. These are 6-week programmes that deliver kayaking/canoe/SUP paddling skills, campfire cooking skills and basic expedition training culminating in an over-night camp adventure that the young women have helped to plan themselves. The overall aim is to improve physical and mental health, in particular emotional literacy, and empower these young women to be able to make educated decisions about their next steps. The young women are referred onto the project through youth and social workers working for Cornwall Council and other social services, as well as private referrals. As a community interest company, we a hoping to become sustainable by creating opportunities for other women to come and share outdoor adventure experiences with us in the form of Wild Women Retreats. These will provide a supportive environment to try new adventure activities like sea swimming, kayaking, Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP), canoeing, yoga, running and Wild Camping. This will be delivered by qualified and emotionally literate female instructors in a beautiful part of South Cornwall with beaches and woodland on our doorstep.
