In 1927, Wilde Tool was purchased by Paul & Otto Froeschl. In 1955 the operations moved from Kansas City, MO to Hiawatha, KS. Today, Wilde Tool Co., Inc. is a privately held corporation presently managed by the 3rd & 4th generations of the founders. Wilde Tool is the MANUFACTURER OF THE ORIGINAL ANGLE NOSE PLIER – introduced over 75 years ago. WILDE®'s 6N and 8N were the original angle nose pliers. They were designed with a 32° angle that created greater leverage. The original Wilde Wrench was granted U.S. Patent No. 1,800,447. Our original trademark was THE PLIERSMITHS™. Our current registered trademarks are WILDE®, WITCO®, and our exclusively manufactured PIPE WRENCH PLIER®. Wilde's primary business is private labeling for several national and international tool companies, mass merchandisers, and OEM's. WILDE® brand is full polished with red grips. We also developed our WITCO® line of pliers in 1970. These are the same precision pliers, with polishing operations eliminated, to make the line more attractive in price without sacrificing quality. Comfortable textured fluorescent orange grips are standard on all WITCO® pliers. Our mission is to sell professional tradepersons quality USA MADE hand tools, on time, at competitive prices.
