About Wilderness International
Who we are: We are a non-profit foundation based in Peru, Canada and Germany. We buy ecologically valuable and acutely threatened wilderness areas, legally secure with land register entry, in order to preserve them for all future generations. What we want to achieve: We focus on ecologically valuable and acutely threatened habitats. By 2050, we will protect the last intact habitats on our planet through legally secure purchase. How do we do this? The purchases are refinanced through donations. These also ensure the long-term protection of the areas. They also enable environmental education projects and research, e.g. on CO2 storage and biodiversity in the protected areas. What you can do: Join us in saying “thank you” to nature: every euro you donate protects 1m2 of forest permanently. Protect your very own piece of rainforest in the Amazon region of Peru or on the west coast of Canada forever with your contribution. What you get: You will receive a certificate with an aerial photo and geocoordinates. So you can see exactly which piece of forest we are protecting with your donation, down to the square meter. Why? Because it is effective and urgent. Primeval forests are home to huge biodiversity and are therefore important for species conservation. They are also our most important allies for climate protection: they provide us with clean air, clear water and ensure a cool microclimate. And last but not least, they offer space for adventure and recreation. Once destroyed, they are irretrievably lost.
