About Wilderness Learning Cooperative

Set in the heart of Wilderness Lakes area, surrounded by Nature reserves and a plethora of different natural environments, we provide one of the few nature-based and outdoor foundational learning spaces. We believe that for young children to naturally develop in a balanced and individual manner, they need to be immersed in nature and be allowed to play play play!! We offer a natural, emergent, immersion learning experience that cultivates a deep connection to nature, community and self. Our Nature school is held in a small homely schoolhouse, with a large enriching outdoors play area. In all seasons and weather throughout the year, we encourage children to learn, explore and play in a natural environment with adult facilitation that nurtures their learning experience rather than just leading it with a set curriculum. Creative and playful learning is at the heart of our approach.
