About Wildwood Estates Homeowners Association
It's difficult to imagine that 116th Street in Fishers, Indiana was a two-lane country road back in 1993 when Crossmann Communities purchased over 87 acres of land that would be developed into Wildwood Estates. Since the first residents moved in the following year, 116th has doubled in size, the population of Fishers has more than tripled, and hundreds more families have made Wildwood home. Wildwood Estates lies along Delight Creek, a small tributary of the nearby White River. Before the neighborhood was built, the bottomlands around Delight Creek were rich with wetlands that attracted a variety of wildlife. Through a process called mitigation, man has recreated these wetlands by reintroducing native plants, including red maple, willow, gray dogwood, slippery elm, cattails, sedge grass, and water lilies. The wetlands offer a breeding ground for fish in the shallows, and a habitat in the deeper open water. Even in a residential neighborhood, wetlands are a valuable resource for they have the ability to digest many water-borne pollutants from lawns and streets. Perhaps the most recognized neighborhood landmark is the "tall tree" located in the center of Tall Trees Drive. The tree is illuminated at nightfall and rises from the center of a beautifully-landscaped island. Walking trails line Delight Creek and circle the wetlands. Direct connections to Hamilton County's extensive network of multi-use trails means residents can easily hike or bike to many area parks, attractions, and retail developments. The community is in the Hamilton Southeastern school district, widely regarded as one of the better school corporations in the region. As you can see, there's truly something for everyone. Whether you're relocating to central Indiana or you're a lifelong Hoosier...
