William Cook designs and manufactures components and systems for industries where safety and reliability are critical. The main markets we serve are defence, rail, architecture and energy. The safety-critical components and systems we design and manufacture go into armoured vehicles, nuclear submarines, high-speed trains, architectural landmarks and offshore oil and gas platforms. • Cook Defence Systems designs and manufactures track systems and armour for military vehicles • William Cook Rail designs, manufactures and overhauls bogies and coupler systems for trains • William Cook Intermodal designs and manufactures securing and handling devices for containerised freight • William Cook Cast Products designs and manufactures specialist steel castings for industries where safety and reliability are critical We employ 470 people across three newly modernised plants in Sheffield, Leeds and Stanhope, County Durham. William Cook is a member of the Cast Metals Federation and the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC).
