Located in northwestern North Dakota, Williston is a hub for the oil industry in the Bakken formation. Williston is an economically diverse, fast-growing, and dynamic community with a population of approximately 30,000 people [2020 Census]. Prior to 2021, the city of Williston had two school districts: Williston Public Schools #1 and Williams County School District #8. After this time, these two districts merged to create Williston Basin School District #7. Our District currently consists of 1 Pre-K program, 7 Elementary schools, 1 middle school, and 2 high schools.
