About Wind&Bones Books

Curated writing and philosophy projects and storytelling for positive social change. Micro-publisher. Directed by writers Dr Hannah Stevens & Dr Will Buckingham. A Scottish organisation currently based in Taiwan. We are registered in Scotland, but have worked all around the world with groups including survivors of domestic abuse, ex-political prisoners, doctors, directors of international NGOs, LGBTQI+ groups, activists and community educators in conflict areas. Our partners include the BBC, the British Embassy, Greenpeace, the Goethe Institute, Caritas and GIY Ireland. Wind&Bones is co-directed by Dr Hannah Stevens and Dr Will Buckingham. Hannah and Will have published and taught globally. Their books include Will's Hello, Stranger: How We Find Connection in a Disconnected World (Granta 2021), featured on Radio4's Book of the Week in the summer of 2021, and Hannah's In Their Absence (Roman Books 2021), a collection of short stories drawing on real-world research into missing people in the UK and Ireland. We offer strategic educational consultancy globally to NGOs, secondary and tertiary educational institutions, and arts, heritage, and community organisations. We also offer training in communications for organisations of all sizes. Wind&Bones also provides one to one mentoring and writing coaching for individuals at any stage of their writing careers. Writing is transformative. It can revolutionise how we see ourselves and each other, help forge community, and give us the tools to imagine and to build a more just, kinder and wiser world.
