Windy City Playhouse is a professional theater meant to entertain through exceptional contemporary, relevant and approachable art. Combining relatable material with high quality artistry, we seek to create work accessible by audiences of all kinds. In this aim, we have created The Playhouse as a space for audiences to linger before and after the performance; a place to decompress with art. The mission of the playhouse was born out the idea for the theater space itself and is directly related to the kind of work we produce. It is at one time flexible and therefore an exciting place in which our artists can create. With a moldable layout and unconventionally modern atmosphere, it is the perfect place to mold into a contemporary theater experience. It also serves our patrons. No more evenings trotting around the city, spending time migrating from this place to that. The Playhouse serves as “the spot.” Between light food, a full service bar, post-show entertainment, and a swanky space, art is introduced in the least intimidating of ways. We hope this fun, swanky energy brings everyone to our place, whether regular theater goers or not; the theater for those wanting a night out of exceptional entertainment.
