About Wines by Girl Meets Dirt
Grown on Orcas Island from hand harvested orchard fruit, our wines are pressed by us, spontaneously fermented & bottled method ancestrale for natural bubbles. Our island grown pét-nats are made with minimal intervention from the fruit of very special heritage trees – eschewing traditional wine barriers. We add no sulfites or yeast and allow the native flora of each orchard to make wine the way nature intended. Our fruit is cofermented together in neutral French wooden barrels, racked instead of filtered & bottled before fermentation has finished for a completely natural effervescence. We don’t have a grape growing tradition on Orcas Island, but we’re abundant with orchard legacy, and old trees as dense as century old vines – a sight to behold. Come taste with us.
