About Wiregrass Rehabilitation Center (WRC)

"𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮 𝗝𝗼𝗯 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀!" We are a local non-profit organization that’s governed by a 12-member Board of Directors. We currently serve 11-county areas in the Southeast Alabama region which spans over 7,513 square miles. Our mission is to increase the employment of individuals with vocational barriers by building strong partnerships with community partners, governmental entities, and private employers! Our twenty-six-acre campus with over 200,000 square feet of enclosed building space allows us to play a vital role in the economic life within the communities that we serve by providing competitive pay to individuals for the work that they perform in an “earn while you learn” training approach. We also train individuals to become employable and assist them in finding jobs on our campus or out in the community. We also assist individuals who have difficulty maintaining employment and those who are on forms of public assistance such as welfare and SNAPS benefits. Over 300 individuals work daily in our job readiness, job development and community work programs. As a result of their earnings, over five million dollars are spent annually in the communities in which these individuals live. With the support of Wiregrass United Way, we’re able to provide a transportation system to make it possible for our employees within a fifty-mile radius of Dothan to participate in the on-site program. This ensures that our employees are able to arrive on time at work and to get home safely after they’re finished for the day. We strongly believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to earn a living, regardless of any vocational barriers they may face on a daily basis. We are proud of the impact that we have made on the lives of so many individuals, and we will continue to show just what a difference a job can make!
