About Wisconsin Foster Closet

The Wisconsin Foster Closet is a 501c3 that offers a free service for Foster families, children and social workers. It is 100% reliant on donations from the community and serves children entering the Foster Care system in West Central Wisconsin. The Wisconsin Foster Closet originally started in 2013, by our CEO and received 501c3 status in 2018. As a foster parent, upon welcoming her first child into her home, she quickly learned that there is a big need for children that come in the foster care system. They usually come into care with nothing but the clothes they are wearing and are leaving behind their favorite blanket, toy, pet, and loved ones. Security and dignity are often left at the door, with nothing to call their own during a traumatic time. This is not only an impact to the child, but an immediate impact to the Foster family that may accept a child in the middle of the night, and can’t get out for basic items necessary such as diapers. Simple things like providing a Welcome bag as a child enters Foster Care can be just enough to give them a sense of hope during a confusing time. We have three primary missions: o Welcome Bag o Gently used clothes and necessities o Christmas for kids Donations can be made by visiting our Facebook Page.
