The Legislative Audit Bureau audits state agencies and programs to make sure that their finances are handled properly and legally, and to make sure they’re run in an efficient and ethical manner. The Legislative Fiscal Bureau analyzes the cost of proposed bills and programs, especially the state budget, to help legislators vote in a more informed manner. The Legislative Reference Bureau drafts and publishes legislative documents.
