About Wisznia | Architecture + Development

A design oriented architectural firm ffounded by Walter Wisznia in 1947 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mr. Wisznia's son Marcel opened the firm's New Orleans in 1973 after graduating from Tulane University's School of Architecture. With Walter Wisznia's death in 2004, Marcel changed the focus of the practice to one whose primarily focus is real estate development. Although it was always a minor part of the firm's business plan, today it encompasses over 75% of the firm's work. Wisznia | Architecture + Development is currently working on five developments in downtown New Orleans. All are mixed-use, primarily multi-family residential, and are conversions of existing historic structures.
