We are proud to use natural fabrics, threads and trims which are kinder to you and the environment. Every piece has a story to tell. Withnell is founded on my love of the countryside, local history, nostalgic memories and heritage. Every Withnell piece is carefully crafted using premium responsible materials that look good, feel good and will last for years to come. The Slow Fashion ethos is what Withnell is about. Slow in the processes that go on in the studio, hand making all of our garments. Slow in the carefully considered decisions about which fabrics, threads and trims to use. Slow in the honest approach to design for simplicity and comfort. Withnell is the old parish name for the cluster of villages where we are based. Here you will find quarries in the hills and in the valleys are the remains of many cotton mills, paper mills and dying and bleaching works.The history of the place, family and the people of Withnell are intricately woven into the story and the stitching of every unique garment. Our passion is for natural fabrics and a soft tonal palette. The landscape influences the colours we use and our silhouettes, celebrating femininity, nature and nostalgia.
