Women of NB in Defence & Security (WNBiDS) is a dynamic and inclusive community dedicated to empowering women across New Brunswick’s Defence and Security sector. Our mission is to connect women at all career stages, foster meaningful collaboration across research institutions, universities, colleges, government, and industry, and create an environment where every voice is valued. Why WNBiDS? The vision for WNBiDS emerged from a strong desire to cultivate a space where women in this sector feel connected, empowered, and inspired to lead. While the national Women in Defence and Security (WiDS) has paved the way, we recognized the need for a provincial initiative focused on fostering authentic connections and amplifying the presence of women in New Brunswick’s Defence and Security ecosystem. New Brunswick is home to top-tier talent and a thriving sector, yet women’s contributions often go unrecognized. WNBiDS was created to change that narrative. We are here to empower, elevate, and advocate for women by providing mentorship, leadership opportunities, and a strong support system.
