Primary Care is the care provided by people you normally see when you first have a health problem. It might be a visit to a doctor or dentist, an optician for an eye test, or just a trip to a pharmacist to buy cough mixture. Our Mission Statement: “Improved health for the people of Wolverhampton and a future where there is less deprivation and disadvantage. Providing good quality services that are equitable, speedy, convenient and treat people with dignity.” Wolverhampton City Primary Care Trust’s mission is to bring about improved health for the people it serves – the local community. To achieve this, the PCT has to encourage and help people to look after themselves and to change the way they live so that they become healthier and increase their likelihood of living longer. The PCT will support people to make lifestyle changes – including giving up smoking, eating a healthier diet, taking more exercise and cutting down on alcohol consumption. Making such changes, however small, can have a major impact on people’s well-being, health and life expectancy.
