About WOM Testing Technologies
WOM Testing Technologies develops embedded solutions for advanced measurements in real driving conditions and data engineering to create realistic digital twins of tires and chassis systems. After several years of applied research in the field of tire and vehicle dynamics, WOM is founded by a highly skilled team with more than 35 years total experience in automotive engineering, based in the I3P incubator of Politecnico di Torino. WOM is the company's first creation: an innovative device for wheel orientation measurements with respect to ground that allows, among other skills, to report in real time tire-road interaction forces at the contact patch by means of direct on-vehicle measurements of instantaneous wheel kinematics. WOM can be integrated to any other sensing technology, enabling the creation of TiReC: an engineering solution for tire in real condition forces and moments analysis, characterization, and modelling. TiReC solution combines a specific testing plan with advanced techniques of data engineering to obtain clear, reliable and usable tire behavior datasets with high level of precision, accuracy and consistency. These real condition data is ready to be plugged into different tire modelling strategies. In particular, TiReC solution is capable of identifying MF based models for a wide range of real road surface conditions (dry asphalt, wet asphalt, concrete, low grip roads, among others). WOM measurements and TiReC solution aim to drive tire and vehicle digital twins to the next level of realism, enabling a critical increase of virtual development efficiency, making possible a substantial reduction of project timing and prototype costs, and providing a source of endless knowledge of tire and vehicle physics during real driving conditions.
