About Women Are Gold

Every day, women and girls in Cambodia are at risk of being trafficked because they find themselves in vulnerable situations due to extreme poverty. Traffickers prey on their desperation and vulnerability. This story needs to change. Women are Gold is a group of champions who serve at risk individuals in Cambodia by providing education, training and professional development to open the door to a brighter future. We believe that education is the gateway to this brighter future, so we’re launching a community center in Cambodia to help young women connect, learn and create new opportunities for themselves and their families. By opening the door to new opportunities, we’ve equipping people to succeed, helping them gain access to higher paying jobs, and making it possible for them to change their story. Our vision is to use the community center as a springboard to identify community needs. It is our desire to partner with other organizations, churches, individuals, businesses and government officials to create solutions to address those needs. Education, partnering and collaboration are key components of our strategy. We realize we are not able to address all of the root causes of trafficking and poverty on our own; instead, our goal is to work together with other like-minded Cambodian and international stakeholders and use our collective expertise to truly make an impact.
