About Women in CyberSecurity (WiCyS) UK & Ireland

WiCyS is an international non-profit membership organisation dedicated to bringing together and empowering women in cybersecurity from academia, research and industry. Founded by Dr. Ambareen Siraj at Tennessee Tech University in 2012, the initiative was created through the US Government National Science Fund with founding partners Cisco, Facebook and Palo Alto Networks. WiCyS has since grown into a global alliance of affiliates and community of experts with over 5000 members worldwide. WiCyS UK Affiliate, established in July 2020, is a community of UK cybersecurity enthusiasts out to serve a purpose: to recruit, retain, and advance women in cybersecurity. Whether you are a student, considering a career change, or an experienced professional in the cybersecurity workforce, WiCyS offers continuous mentoring, recruitment opportunities, learning, networking, and career development to women at all stages of their cybersecurity careers.
