About Women in Sanitation and Health (WiSH)
Women in Sanitation and Health (WiSH) is a non-profit organisation that focuses on health and sanitation conditions with a special focus on menstrual hygiene management. We work locally but think globally. WiSH was founded in 2016 in Helsinki, Finland. It is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation with no political or religious affiliation. Our aim is to help, educate, raise awareness and improve conditions associated with menstrual hygiene management. WiSH is an organisation that was created for the empowerment of women to make informed choices, so they can make changes for the better – in their own lives as well as on a community level. We believe that good menstrual hygiene management is a right and should be accessible to all women, young and old, no matter where you live. Having your period should not stop you from school, work or engaging in everyday society.
