Hello wonderful humans, welcome to Women Rock – the voice for diversity in tech! I'm Alicia - the Founder Reflecting on the past decade, I've put as much effort as I can in supporting diversity in tech, but I've always felt there's more I can do. Back in the early days of my career, representing women in the industry was a rarity for me. Tech wasn't even presented as a viable career option when I left school, and my friends and family weren't exactly tech enthusiasts. Naively, I wasn't aware of the women making waves in tech, and that realisation saddened me. While there's undeniably more work to be done, it's not just about women – it's about embracing diversity in its entirety. I founded Women Rock in 2018 and I’m so proud to be one of the leading blogs within diversity. Building connections is my our thing and Women Rock has shared over 200 stories to date and backed by our incredible Women Rock ambassadors and forward-thinking companies dedicated to enhancing ED&I in our industry. Now, let's set the record straight – Women Rock isn't exclusive to women alone – mainly because we can’t do it alone. We're here to amplify the stories of individuals from ethnic minorities, those with physical and hidden disabilities, amazing tales from trans and gender-diverse folks, and allies committed to championing diversity in every aspect of their lives. Our conversations cover it all – from triumphs and struggles to frustrations and unwavering commitments. Sure, we've seen progress in ED&I, but it's time to turn up the volume on these successes so others can follow suit. I'm on a mission to build the most diverse tech community in the world where Women Rock becomes the heart for celebrating diversity.
