About Wood Components & Technologies, Inc
Wood Components began our historical journey in 1903 as Novelty Woodworking Company in Waterloo, Iowa. Back then, we were producing wooden toys and novelty items. About 1933, our name changed to Wood Products Company. The new focus of the business shifted to that of an OEM Wooden parts manufacturer servicing numerous industries. We found that eventually, a significant portion of our business had evolved into producing wooden bearings for washing machines and agriculture equipment. Hence, the name change to Waterloo Wood Bearing Company and we remained known as such for many years. Feeling the prosperous need for more room, the company relocated in 1978 to a new and beautiful 25,000 square foot facility in the Cedar Falls Industrial Park. Our name was once again (and finally) changed to Wood Components & Technologies, Inc. in 1999. Now we simply refer to ourselves as Wood Components, a name that stands for diversity in manufacturing and superior quality in product. In 2012 we completely remodeled our front office to showcase our mill-work products and provide a pleasing customer impression. We produce custom mill-work and arched moldings for leading distributors, building centers, cabinet & window manufacturers, commercial contractors, lumber yards, and home builders. In late 2014 we added our third CNC machining center with a 5' X 12' table and 5-axis capability. Our machining centers can work with solid wood, flat panels, MDF, plastics, and light aluminum. Advanced nesting or multi-station setups can increase throughput and cost efficiency to the customer. We continue to provide recurring production OEM parts and components in wood and plastic, as well as additional services for a wide variety of customers. Wood Components is a leading job shop in a specialized industry. We have an established reputation for quality and service and we are ready to serve you in the products and services you require.
