About Wordbits

We love the nostalgia and fun of traditional alphabet magnets but thought it was a waste that they couldn't actually hold anything on the fridge (not to mention being ugly). So we set about redesigning an icon. Alongside Creative Director Muggie Ramadani and type designer Trine Rask we designed our own, award-winning typeface design. Each Wordbits piece is strong enough to hold a greeting card, but not too strong that they're hard to move. Wordbits are matte, use consumer-recycled plastic and come in a stylish palette of colours. Founded By Annabel Weber and Shanna Hermansen, two friends and former advertising agency colleagues. After both losing their jobs at a creative agency the women decided to start Wordbits as a side-project, partly because they wanted to own the product for themselves, and partly to apply their professional marketing skills to a brand of their own. Wordbits launched in September 2019 via a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter which reached its funding goal in just 4 days.
