About Words2Action

The mission of Words2Action is to empower groups of individuals with muted voices, by transforming good intentions into positive change. We do this by engaging leaders, educators and learners; helping them to transform their notions into tangible results. By encouraging dialogue and action, we hope to improve the world, one idea at a time. Words2Action believes that the convergence of ideas, talent and the incredible capacity of the human spirit, are what make the City of Pasadena exceptionally poised to impact our greater world for the better, and we seek to lead the way in forming a community within communities, where individual entities are stronger together, rather than apart. With more schools per capita, access to JPL, NASA, Caltech, the Huntington Library, Idealab, Supplyframe Design Lab, the Armory, USC, Huntington Hospital, the Pasadena Symphony, and companies like Parsons (just to name a few), we sit in the center of one of the most unique cities in all the world. We believe the tech community, the arts, medicine, science, engineering, public and private education, the corporate and non-profits, will all be better served by linking arms to one another throughout the year, and Words2Action intends to be that hub. Sponsorships are awarded to girls (ages 13-18) from Pasadena and surrounding areas. Recipients are able to attend the annual TEDxPasadena conference on September 22nd for free as well as participate in several unique mentoring opportunities through Words2Action, making a sponsorship an experience that they will remember for the rest of their lives. 📷 Words2Action (W2A) is a 501c(3) tax exempt organization, which produces an independent TEDx event operated under a license from TED titled TEDxPasadena (PO Box 921, Pasadena, CA 91102).
