There are several factors that negatively impact an engaged workforce. Since the Great Depression there has been an increase in the number of able-bodied, prime-aged workers that have decided to leave the labor force. In addition, both employees and leaders are reporting increases in active disengagement. Both issues have deleterious effects on organizational success. The Workforce Gladiator is dedicated to overcoming the factors that negatively impact feelings of indomitably resulting in frustration and disengagement. To paraphrase a quote from Scandal, You are a gladiator. Gladiators don't run, they fight. They wipe off the blood, they stitch up their wounds, and they live to fight another day. Unfortunately many have not been taught how to fight. Others have been in the coliseum so long that they are tired, they have lost the emotional strength to fight. Yet others just need to refine their skills increase their effectiveness. Call it increasing volition, resilience, desire for goal achievement, or providing tools and techniques that increase hope, we need a workforce of engaged, critical thinkers, that is indomitable.
