Work is dignity. It provides not only income but also stability, purpose, and connection to community. Yet, for millions of people in underserved communities, access to work is still out of reach. The reasons are not about motivation or skill—they are about barriers: digital literacy, language, affordability, and equity. At the same time, small businesses, especially those owned by women, minorities, and veterans, are the backbone of local economies. They provide essential services, create jobs, and keep neighborhoods thriving. But these same businesses often struggle to hire because mainstream job boards are too expensive, too complex, and not built with them in mind. WorkOnward Foundation was created to bridge this divide—removing barriers for job seekers while making hiring simple, affordable, and human for small businesses. Our mission is rooted in equity and inclusion: ensuring that access to decent work is not a privilege, but a right.
