About World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF)

The World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) is a global organization that governs amputee football associations worldwide. Its goal is to support individuals with amputations or limb defects by increasing their access to amputee football opportunities and improving their quality of life through football. WAFF was established in 2002 and continues to evolve, bringing nations together to work towards a sport with a greater social impact. WAFF supports its five affiliated associations by providing administrative and logistical assistance through various programs to ensure they operate to a gold standard. As representatives of WAFF in their respective countries, they have an obligation to uphold the statutes, aims, and ideals of amputee football's governing body and promote and manage the sport accordingly. WAFF aims to associate and promote amputee footballing nations to form confederations in line with mainstream sports. These confederations include the AFC in Asia, CAF in Africa, the Football Confederation (CONCACAF) in North and Central America and the Caribbean, CONMEBOL in South America, EAFF in Europe, and the OFC in Oceania. They provide support to FIFA without encroaching on the rights of national associations.
