About World Association of Youth of Uzbekistan in Korea
On December 22, 2017, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, addressing the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, set a number of priority tasks in the field of youth policy. One of them was work with young people studying and working abroad, protection of their rights and legitimate interests, comprehensive support and encouragement, education of the spirit of patriotism in them, as well as assistance in finding their place in society. After that, in connection with the tasks set, the World Association of Youth of Uzbekistan (WAYU) was registered as an NGO in December 2017 by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan. To date, the association's representative offices are officially registered in more than 10 countries and cover more than 2.3 million young people from Uzbekistan who live abroad. At the initiative of the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea, the representative office of the World Youth Association of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Korea was registered as a non-governmental organization (NGO) in the Republic of Korea. Activities of the WAYU representative office in Korea: - We organize entertainment events for the youth of Uzbekistan; - We organize round tables where we educate young people about Korean legislation, the intricacies of health insurance and the tax system, as well as other issues related to living in the Republic of Korea.; - We annually conduct a scholarship program “Talented Compatriot” for Uzbek youth in Korea; - We provide assistance to compatriots in legal matters; - Young people in Korea between the ages of 18 and 30 are considered part of us. And we try to help each of them; - We provide one-time financial assistance to young people who are in a difficult financial situation or are in a serious condition in the hospital.
