About World Council on City Data
The WCCD (www.dataforcities.org) coordinates all efforts on open city data to ensure a consistent and comprehensive platform for standardized urban metrics. As a global leader on standardized indicators, the WCCD is also leading the efforts on global implementation of ISO 37120 – the first international standard on sustainable and resilient cities. With 100 indicators, based on 17 themes, ISO 37120 allows for cities of any size to compare themselves globally through the WCCD Open City Data Portal, offering cutting-edge visualisations and trend analyses. Once a city is certified under ISO 37120, it is entered in the Global Cities Registry ™. Led by the WCCD, ISO 37120 was piloted with our Foundation Cities, which include: Amsterdam, Amman, Barcelona, Bogota, Boston, Buenos Aires, Dubai, Guadalajara, Haiphong, Helsinki, Johannesburg, London, Makati, Makkah, Minna, Melbourne, Rotterdam, Shanghai, and Toronto.
