Since the foundation of WPT Nord GmbH on 01.06.1997 in Kiel, we have successfully adapted to the constantly growing demands of our customers and developed into an internationally active, independent service company. The business activities of WPT Nord GmbH, include services in the field of non-destructive material testing, e.g., X-ray, UT phased array, visual inspection, eddy current, surface crack inspection. In the field of wind turbines, WPT Nord GmbH has developed into a leading provider of Inspection and repair concepts. These services are used worldwide on turbines from various manufacturers. The inspections are carried out by NDT inspectors certified according to DIN EN ISO 9712. State-of-the-art phased array ultrasonic technology is used. Automated scanners are used wherever possible. The data is available in digital form and is saved for further analysis. Our repair partner VRT Nord GmbH is an EN 1090-2 EXC3 certified welding company. Together we can carry out repairs, for example on the towers of wind turbines, in accordance with standards. All specifications by standards, regulations and manufacturer specifications are adhered to. If required, we can offer complete solutions consisting of project management, turbine operation, inspection, welding repairs and paintwork. Several hundred towers have been inspected and repaired over the past few years. Through the non-destructive Inspection of various components, these can continue to be operated and replacement can be prevented if they are in a good shape. This can significantly reduce the costs, especially if lifetime extension is planned.
