About Write Out Loud
WriteOutLoud is committed to inspire, challenge and entertain by reading short stories aloud for a live audience. Founded by San Diego actors Veronica Murphy and Walter Ritter, WriteOutLoud delivers a unique entertainment experience. A typical WriteOutLoud performance includes short stories & perhaps a poem or two, by different authors from different time periods, all relevant to a central theme. Accomplished actors, carefully chosen and directed, bring the narration, characters and nuances of the stories to life. Many of us were read to as children – by mothers, grandfathers, teachers. But as adults, we rarely have the opportunity to sit back and listen to a story read to us aloud. That’s what WriteOutLoud provides for the San Diego Community. Programs include: TwainFest: an annual celebration of Mark Twain and his contemporaries in Old Town San Diego The Big Read: as part of the NEA program Voices of Ireland: annual St. Patrick's Day event short story readings throughout the year
