About Write to Think
Write to Think is a training and development consultancy that uses writing and storytelling to invigorate thinking and creativity. As experienced teachers of creative writing, we help organisations develop a working culture of lively imagination, confident expression and deep, independent thought. Organisations need to think: to have ideas, to scrutinize a new opportunity, to see problems from angles never considered before. Technology can help with this, but its appeal – that it takes the hard work out of thinking – is also its great weakness. The writing workshop is a powerful means of encouraging teams to connect with the work they do by thinking creatively and collaboratively, and to develop confidence in their own ability to shape the future. As the group attends closely to the process of writing, thought runs into fresh channels and challenging subjects move nearer to resolution. We use a series of exercises to explain how thinking clearly and writing well are one and the same, and how each supports the other. In the process writing improves, as the outward sign of growing confidence and accomplishment within the group.
