About Writers Place

Writers Place is a student-led creative writing organization based at Indiana University dedicated to nurturing the voices of emerging writers. We offer a dynamic, collaborative space where students across disciplines can develop their craft outside the classroom through hands-on workshops, creative challenges, and peer feedback. In addition to weekly meetings, we host specialized workshops in fiction, poetry, and scriptwriting, as well as guest speaker events that introduce members to the professional and publishing sides of the writing world. Writers Place also curates and publishes an annual literary journal that showcases the original work of student and local writers, amplifying diverse perspectives and creative expression. We are proud to cultivate an inclusive, welcoming community where writers of all levels can explore their passion, build meaningful connections, and grow both artistically and professionally.
