Written Out Loud teaches kids ages 7–17 the timeless craft of storytelling, helping them find their voice, build confidence, and connect deeply with others. Founded by award-winning filmmaker and Yale professor Josh Shelov, Written Out Loud combines professional storytelling expertise with proven educational methods to empower young creators to write original stories inspired by the books, movies, and shows they love. Our programs include: Interactive storytelling workshops and camps, as well as breakthrough programs for schools and districts. A unique curriculum grounded in motivation science and creative collaboration. To date, over 5000 young storytellers have completed our programs, with many becoming published authors and confident creators.
