About X-Bots Robotics
Founded in August 2015, X-Bots Robotics Inc. aims to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders by developing a passion for STEM careers at a young age, two parents saw the opportunity to impact a community with much-needed STEM education. They set out to recruit mentors, volunteers, and interested students to start the first FRC community robotics team through FIRST® Robotics Competition (FRC), a mind sport that combines science and technology for high school students. We provide students with a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on technical engineering training that develops their leadership skills to inspire others through outreach efforts. X-Bots Robotics Inc. strategically partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Whittier to train high schoolers to help them build characteristics to be great leaders in the future while simultaneously expanding their knowledge of STEM careers. We’ve expanded our reach by networking with other Robotics teams to work in collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs in other cities & states. Through our program students: - Learn from professional engineers - Master STEM skills - Learn and use sophisticated software and hardware - Learn and use power tools - Build a competition robot of their own design - Develop teamwork skills interpersonal/communication skills, marketing, business and finance skills, and web design. We developed an outreach program called X-Bots Mobility, a STEM education program that partners students in a Robotics team with a Boys and Girls Club, and together they build specially designed physical therapy cars for toddlers with cerebral disorders affecting their body mobility. The program is a unique combination of peer-to-peer learning paired with a half-day hands-on workshop that draws in the families and toddlers who benefit from the finished product. X-Bots Robotics has served as the primary planner and facilitator of this program by overseeing each of the following elements:
