YakGear History: As an avid fisherman and curious inventor, the president of the company created two leashes, which are now the basic paddle leash and the fishing pole leash. In 2005, he began offering these leashes under the name Reel Deels. After a year of constant online sales, the product line was then expanded to include rudimentary imitations of what is now YakGear’s line of extensive paddle sport and marine products. This expansion continued through November of 2007 when Reel Deels reached its 20th product in the product line and officially became YakGear. Today, we operate a fully inventoried showroom in Houston, TX, a multinational e-commerce website, and have multiple retail agreements with retail stores ranging from large, nationwide retailers to small, family owned kayak shops. YakGear Mission: The mission of YakGear is to give our customers a premium value on paddling and fishing accessories for kayaks and canoes while providing them with the information required for a safer and more practical paddling experience. We will provide these with a dedication to the highest quality of customer satisfaction delivered with a sense of friendliness, honesty, and respect for the outdoors.
