In the heart of Washington State is the Yakima Greenway, with nearly 20 miles of trails, pathways, parks and playgrounds, all connected by the waters of the Yakima and Naches Rivers. The Greenway is a triumph of heart and an oasis for our community to enjoy. A collaboration and vision that began four decades ago continues today as a new generation of leaders imagine the power of the Greenway as a place where people come together for fellowship and natural connection. The Yakima Greenway is a Gift. Our mission is to conserve, enhance and maintain the Yakima Greenway as a living resource for future generations. The Greenway has endured through many seasons, including the pandemic, providing a literal and figurative playground for our community. Our open spaces and trails have, and always will be, here for all of us—as long as we take care of them. Maintaining these spaces takes time, attention, and dedication. It also requires financial support—and we need you. We need to reinvest in the Greenway so we can preserve this oasis and continue to offer a safe and accessible area to all who visit. Fresh air, moving our bodies, and connecting with nature will always positively impact people of all ages and walks of life. It’s why we say the “Gift” of the Greenway. It gives back: connecting us, restoring us, and inspiring us. Join us. The Yakima Greenway is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of 20 miles of nature and recreation along the rivers between the towns of Naches and Union Gap.
