About Yale Hunger and Homelessness Action Project
The Yale Hunger and Homelessness Action Project (YHHAP) endeavors every day to help the men and women struggling with hunger and homelessness in our local New Haven community. We are committed to meaningful, personal engagement while promoting long-term, impactful change. Founded in 1974 by a small band of Yale undergraduates, our non-profit has grown into Yale's largest service group with 250 active volunteers serving over 8,000 annual service hours. Entirely student-run, YHHAP conducts advocacy work, promotes community awareness, and runs twelve service projects that target diverse aspects of alleviating hunger and homelessness.
