About Yanantin Alpaca
Yanantin Alpaca is a sustainable brand of alpaca woolen products made to empower women in Peru. As a social enterprise, we use our revenue to become self-sustainable and reinvest profits into the community. Our goal is to empower women in Peru by offering fair salaries and positive working conditions. The benefits of entering the labor market are immense: greater independence, less time spent on unpaid domestic work, and improved overall well-being. But there’s more… Social entrepreneurship creates a snowball effect. We aim to reduce gender inequality in the labor market by hiring women with limited access to formal work opportunities as knitters of alpaca woolen products. Yanantin Alpaca focuses on women at an increased risk of working informal jobs or doing unpaid labor. As a social enterprise, sustainability is at our core. This means our positive social impact is long-lasting, and it also extends to our products. In my personal journey to build a more sustainable wardrobe, I choose to buy less and invest in high-quality, sustainable fabrics. Yanantin Alpaca helps you make those conscious choices too, offering products that are durable, versatile, and sustainable. (Yes, that includes being ethically made, fair trade, and animal-friendly!)
