Youth Alliance for Progress Organization (YAPO) is a youth-led NGO working to advance social-economic development through gender-responsive approaches to policy reforms, awareness raising, training, and capacity strengthening of youth, women, and children. MISSION To contribute to the improvement of the socio-economic welfare of youth, women, and children through the management of public services, and promotion of right-based and gender-responsive programming. VISION Marginalized groups of youth, women, and children are an empowered alliance with better well-being for sustainable development. CURRENT PROJECTS - Girls Inspire Project - SCARF Project –Strengthening Communities to Attain Resilience and Food Security - EYES Project – Enhance Youth Employability Skills IMPACT - Trained 3000 women and girls to livelihood opportunities in Gairo and Kilosa districts (2021 – 2022) - Facilitated 1000 women and girls to form groups for income-generating associations and VSLAs - Linked women and girls to financial services institutions to access financial services such as savings, credits, and soft loans. - Strengthened the capacity of 30 policymakers on addressing discriminatory social norms and legal frameworks on dealing with rights violations at the local and national levels.
