In 2020 I was inspired to write a book that would share with the world my personal journey and struggle of being a product of childhood sexual abuse. This book also documented the steps I took to overcome the hurdles from the years of sexual trauma that attempted to define my life. That book was a blueprint of liberation, but not just for me. For the countless young girls and women who have endured these things as well and don't quite know how to be free. The name of that book was Year of She Arise and what I thought was a book, was the foundation of a movement. Our mission here at Year of She Arise Network is to educate, create reform, and provide a safe space for young girls and women who are survivors of human trafficking and sexual abuse. Reformation is important because not only do we get to change the laws and policies that impact victims, but most importantly we change ideologies which are the minds behind the abuse. We do this by offering education, which entails the nature and severity of sexual trauma which is different from all other traumas due to the challenges it imposes on the physical body, mind, and the spirit. Our vision: is to provide economic relief and housing for women and children to have a safe space to heal from sexual abuse. Our values are: generational healing matters, community collaboration is necessary, and awareness plus advocacy must lead the charge. Through this we help survivors with their journey from being victims to being victorious.
