Yippie Foundation is a 501 c (3) nonprofit devoted to “Teaching Kids to Fish” by providing Solano County homeless, foster care and poverty-level youth, ages 16-24, with job readiness, vocational mentoring, life skills, hope and confidence. Students will also receive “on-the-job” training, entrepreneurial education and work experience in the future “Yippie Yogurt” training shop that will serve great-tasting, soft-serve frozen yogurt, smoothies and shakes in make-it-yourself creations. Yippie graduates will be eligible to participate in the Yippie Internship program with area employers. Yippie stands for: Youth Initiating Professional Preparedness In Employment. We believe that Yippie Foundation has the unique opportunity to be a self-sustaining charity through the sale of frozen Yippie Yogurt. As Yippie Foundation is successful, we will open more Yippie Yogurt training sites throughout Solano County and Northern California. We hope to serve thousands of youth in the years ahead. We also plan to collaborate with and support area charities working with disadvantaged youth. Each month we will feature a different nonprofit who is making a difference. Once self-sustaining, Yippie Foundation has pledged to donate a portion of net yogurt sales revenue to these partner nonprofits.
