Founded by the esteemed Swami Jyotirmayananda, a revered spiritual teacher, our programs aim to bring about life-changing benefits through yogic practices derived from the eternal wisdom of mystic philosophies. Swami Jyotirmayananda, born on Feb 3rd, 1931, demonstrated marks of future saintliness from childhood with his calm and reflective nature, compassion for all, that were a constant inspiration to all around him. Motivated by an overwhelming desire to serve humanity through a spiritual life, he embraced the ancient order of Sanyasa at the age of 22 on Feb 3rd, 1953. Practicing intense austerities in the Himalayan retreats by the Ganges and teaching at the Yoga Vedanta Forest Academy, he tirelessly served his Guru, Sri Swami Sivananda Maharaj. In March 1969, Swami Jyotirmayananda extended his grace to the western world by founding the ashram in Miami, which has since become the hub of international activities for the Yoga Research Foundation. Today, Swami Jyotirmayananda holds a position of the highest order among international men of wisdom. He is widely recognized as a leading proponent of Integral Yoga: a way of life that synthesizes the ancient yoga tradition into a comprehensive plan for personality integration.
